Interview by Omar Hefling.
His novel, Crimes Imperceptible was filmed by Alex de la Iglesia with the name of Oxford Crimes , released this year in Argentina. That novel sold 100 thousand copies in England, an unprecedented event for an Argentine writer. But before giving the film notoriety, Guillermo Martinez, a PhD in mathematics, was recognized by critics and readers to two excellent books of short stories and his first two novels. The jungle without beasts and big Hell, his work was anthologized short stories and in Germany, Mexico, Colombia, Spain, Canada, Switzerland and Bulgaria. But with the publication of About Roderer, his first novel get the breakthrough as one of the best storytellers Argentina today. However, a highly recommended book is Martinez Borges and mathematics where the author lists a series of lectures and articles about mathematics, in particular, its review of Borges' favorite paradoxes: in particular the case of infinity in which the whole is not greater than the parts. Indeed, these paradoxes are rather basic, are studied in first year of Exact and Engineering careers. But more interesting than the basic mathematics that uses Borges, is the ability to make metaphors and stories that preserves and enhances the beauty of mathematics. Omar
